Card Spotlight: Gub
Wednesday, November 10th, 2010

This entry will be the first of a series in which I discuss specific cards indepth. Today I will focus on the most important card in the deck, which is of course, the Gub cards.

GubCute little guys, aren’t they?

Well, they went through quite a lot of development before they arrived as the Gubs you know and love today (and they will probably continue to change for all time). When I first drew them in the margins of my homework in 3rd grade, they were simply little circles with stick arms and legs. Actually, the original Gubs had no arms and legs, and bounced around on little spherical bodies. They were the perfect example of something a 3rd grader could draw in abundance, and no doubt my teachers tired of seeing them covering my assignments.

Little did they know they were witnessing the birth of a movement! ;) Gubs became more sophisticated as my drawing skills improved. Eventually they received the treatment you see here, which made it into the published version. I still have a soft spot in my heart for the original drawings, which is why I still have plenty of the original drawings laying around still. :)

The Gubs Are Waking Up
Tuesday, November 9th, 2010

So I’ve realized that I let this site sit quietly a little too often, especially since there’s a lot to say about GUBS and a lot of people who continue to write me with comments and questions. I’m going to start updating this section frequently with player feedback, stories and strategies, and other neat stuff having to do with GUBS. So if you’re interested, stay tuned.

Also, there is BIG news coming in the next few months. Big, big news. Huge even. Can’t wait to share.

This was my Esteemed Elder costume I made for Halloween. We also used it at a few conventions, with varying degrees of success. :)

Big News Coming Soon
Saturday, July 24th, 2010

Hey GUBS fans:

Just wanted to post to say that GUBS is alive and well, and the reprint is in the works. There have been some major developments over here that I can’t share yet, but stay tuned. We’re going to have some big announcements soon…

SOLD OUT!
Tuesday, January 26th, 2010

Well, the day has finally come: we are sold out of GUBS decks. We started with 1000 decks and now they are all out in the world, all over the place. I want to thank everyone who has supported the game so far, and I hope you continue to enjoy it. The good new is that I’m working hard to get a new print run together; I expect GUBS will be available again soon.

In the meantime, there are a few vendors out there who still have some stock. Check them out:
