SOLD OUT!
Tuesday, January 26th, 2010

Well, the day has finally come: we are sold out of GUBS decks. We started with 1000 decks and now they are all out in the world, all over the place. I want to thank everyone who has supported the game so far, and I hope you continue to enjoy it. The good new is that I’m working hard to get a new print run together; I expect GUBS will be available again soon.

In the meantime, there are a few vendors out there who still have some stock. Check them out:

GUBS Analysis
Thursday, December 17th, 2009

Awesome article that really takes the game apart (in a good way):

“Gubs is a special game. What’s so special about it? Its ruleset is incredibly simple – yet the strategies to be discovered are many. It has that chess-like quality of infinite replayability in it, but the presentation of Gubs is more attractive and the learning curve much more gentle. We’ll analyze it from the point of view of an RPG/RL designer, and you’ll see what a breath of fresh air these sorts of mechanics can be for a genre saturated with counters, percentage bonuses and additive buffs.”

Another Great Review!
Wednesday, September 2nd, 2009

Dan Heck of Examiner.com National has given GUBS a great review…

“Within this reviewer’s experience, the observation that a game is self-published can sometimes be a bit of an omen.  If established publishers weren’t interested in a game, one cannot help but wonder if it’s worth playing.  In some cases, publishers are hands-down correct in their decisions (watch out for The Spoils of Civilization, suffered through at the 2009 Mensa MindGames event, for instance).  But sometimes, a pretty decent game can shine through the darkness of a market that presents tough odds for inventors to try to beat.  Cole Medeiros has created one such victor, a card game “of wit and luck,” called Gubs.”
